The Old Firm clash

The first Old Firm clash of the season between Rushen United and Peel at a soggy Croit Lowey ended in a breathless 2-2 draw.
Rhys Oates’s free-kick gave the westerners a first-half lead only for Jack Snidal’s looped cross to clink off the post and in and deservedly level things up at the start of the second 45.
Peel thought that had weathered Rushen’s second-half storm and snatched a late winner when Dan Simpson rifled in an 82nd-minute strike to make it 1-2.
The Spaniards, however, roared back once more and Jamie Johnston fired in five minutes later to give United a deserved share of the Premier League encounter’s spoils.
The combination game was another enthralling fixture. Peel took the lead through Daniel Pickering after 5 minutes only for Kyle Lunn to equalise after 13 minutes. Peel went back ahead after 20 minutes through Dan Corkill. Sean Harrison drew the teams level after 68 minutes only for Dan Corkill to restore the lead a minute later. Peel rode their luck and looked like they would pick up the three points until Danny Shuttleworth equalised in the 96th minute for a well deserved point
